Award-winning department store Sandersons Boutique is set to open in Stroud in April 2021.

Sandersons CEO, Mark Dransfield said: ‘At Sandersons we believe in our High Streets and we recognise that customers expect excellent service from their local stores.

‘We will be employing local people to serve the community and our staff will be trained to the highest of standards in order to provide exceptional customer service, backed by product knowledge and training.

‘The interior of the new store has been modelled on buildings located in the Meatpacking District of New York, by our award-winning designer, so our customers can expect to shop in a stunning environment when they visit us… we are working towards an opening date of 14th April 2021, subject to the lockdown restrictions being lifted.’

Mr Dransfield is also the managing director and founder of Dransfield Properties which bought the former Merrywalks Shopping Centre in 2018 for £10 million, pledging to invest £12 million in its transformation.

GFirst LEP, Gloucestershire’s local enterprise partnership, provided a £1 million loan and a £3 million grant towards the project which is said would help attract business to the town.

Sandersons was founded in 2016 by the late Yorkshire businesswoman Deborah Holmes, Mr Dransfield’s wife. He took over the business in 2018.
